Suicide Prevention Suicide has been and remains a serious public health concern for Humboldt County. Every life lost to suicide has immediate and long-term impacts on individuals, families and entire communities. The rate of death by suicide in Humboldt County is consistently higher than both the statewide mortality rate and the Healthy People 2030 national target rate goal.
